Of UFOs and Monkeys

Let me state up front, when it comes to alien UFOs I'm not merely a skeptic, I flat out do not and cannot believe for many reasons, some scientific, some theological.

Having said that, I do enjoy reading accounts of "alien encounters" and "UFO crashes." Mainly, I think, because it piques the interest of the nerdy sci fi fan in me.

One natural explanation, which is probably as credible as any, is that these are experimental military craft. Believers discount this out of hand claiming the military couldn't possibly have that type of technology. I'd say you need to look more at some of the odd craft that we know about.

Even drones, for instance, could have been around at the time. I could easily see the military experimenting with some form of radio controlled craft in the middle of last century. This leads me to my next point.

When reading many of these accounts you hear that at the crash site not only are there scores of FBI and military personnel, but, more often than not, charred remains of small alien creatures; big eyes, almost no ears, etc.

When we were first exploring outer space we (that is the US) would send up chimps, monkeys and, in the case of the USSR, dogs.

I posit that the military was using monkeys as test subjects in these radio controlled drones. Perhaps it was a test to see if humans could be put on board to act as the "computer" when it comes to targeting or spying, while the ground control could more accurately direct where the drone were to go.

Another option would be the use of radio controlled craft and monkeys as merely a safety test flight/mock flight before putting humans in the air craft.

There could be other reasons to use a human analogue, but that would take a whole different post.

So, let's say we are testing these high altitude "drones" and one were to crash and burn. Imagine what a charred monkey or chimp would look like to the average person who had, quite possibly, never seen a living monkey, save for maybe National Geographic.

A charred monkey could look an awful lot like an alien. Big eyes, no ears and, when burned severely enough, a shrunken mouth.

I would post a pic, but what I found was rather gruesome and I'd rather not make anyone sick. Suffice to say, they do have a very alien appearance.

Anyhow, that's just one theory to explain these "alien" UFOs.

I can think of others involving the USSR, spying and the Cold War, but it would result in the same end scenario.
